Psychomotor lesson

Course of a psychomotor lesson

Group size: one school class; 1st 2nd grade

Time: by arrangement with school management and class teacher (each class a total of 4 hours)

Head: Andrea Komma (school social worker) class teacher

Status: 30.10.2016

Basic rules:

  • Don't hurt anyone
  • What has been built must not be broken
  • If something goes wrong (e.g. breaking the basic rules or being too loud), everyone can apply the STOP rule (everyone stops - then the problem is resolved among the children)

Topics of the psychomotor lesson

  • Own body perception
  • Strengthening the class community
  • Recognize and observe structure/limits/rules
  • Practicing social behavior
  • Experience yourself and others in a different context (we build something together) – discover new strengths in yourself and others
  • Mutual appreciation
  • Learn to resolve conflicts independently
  • Action planning (what material do I need for my project, which space is suitable?)
  • Promote self-confidence
  • Support motor skills
  • Promote language/verbal expressions desired

Course of a psychomotor lesson

  • Hello - Round (Arriving, noticing the others)
  • Repeat basic rules (clear agreement)
  • The fast game: “Hot chips, fried potato game, hunter’s ball, tire piercing,...” (own body awareness, motor skills)
  • Material/body experience: cloths, tires, balls... what can you play with them? Collect game ideas and try them out (alone and together)
  • Joint meeting:
  • What do you want to build and play today?
  • What material do you need for this?
  • Where do you want to build?
  • Who do you want to build and play with? (Language, continuing material experience and action planning, finding play partners)
  • Construction in compliance with the basic rules (social behavior, motor skills, implementation of the plan, self-confidence, observance of rules, stimulation of the imagination)
  • Appreciative round (reporter round): What have you built – tell us! (active language, checking the action plan, listening to each other, self-confidence)
  • Role play with the built “playgrounds” (observe mutual rules, e.g.: “You are only allowed to enter our ship through this door – otherwise it will easily break!”)
  • Cleaning up: Everyone cleans up their used material (structured action, social behavior)
  • Relaxation: “Hedgehog walk, pizza massage, tiger raspberry” (body experience, social behavior)
  • Reflection: "What did you like/not like today?" Language, appreciation, self-confidence)
  • “The big goodbye” (farewell)
